Poetic Lenses is the collaboration of two retired educators, Beth Benjamin and Paula Friedman , sharing their love of nature. Poetic Lenses marries nature photos of upstate New York and beyond with literary quotations from a variety of well-known authors, poets, and philosophers. In addition to Paula's and Beth’s own photos, the collection includes several taken by Beth’s husband, WD.

Poetic Lenses has created affordable gift items that are whimsical, inspirational, celebratory, or philosophical. Elegant greeting cards, comprised of engaging photo images paired with carefully selected quotations, help mark special days and life events.

The photography attempts to capture the quiet, subtle beauty of the natural environment and offers an intimate look at the many textures and forms of nature. Favorite subjects include water and reflections, forest flora and fauna, butterflies and birds, farm animals, and the never-ending beauties of the artists’ own and others’ gardens. The Benjamin and Friedman pets often find themselves in the photographers’ lenses as well.
